Buy a Car with Bad Credit

I think a lot of people out there struggle with having not the best credit. I know when I was no longer covered under my parents health insurance I worked at a job that didn't have a plan for part time employee's for health insurance. I thought I am young, do I really need it. Well, needless to say I got super sick and was in the hospital and the bills began to pile up. That alone did a number on my credit. I was single, trying to make ends meet, and I wasn't able to pay off my bills.

Now being older I got it cleaned up and no longer have the debt, but when I was struggling I felt like I would never get approved for a loan for a new car. But, you can get a loan and a newer car for you and your family. Here are some steps to help you get a car with bad credit. It is not a death sentence if your credit isn't the best, so don't think it is! You can get a car, so don't worry!

Budget: Before you head out, make sure to look at your finances and see what you can realistically afford each month. Make sure to include insurance as well. You have to have full coverage when you have an auto loan, or at least you do in my state, so you might check that out to see what rules your state requires. Then when you go in you can look at cars in your price range, that way you can ensure you will be able to keep the car.

Find A Dealership who works with those who have bad credit: This is a big one. Some dealerships, such as Loan Approval Center, specialize in helping out those who might not have the best credit score, and can work with you on getting a car! So look in your are for dealerships who work with people with bad credit. Some dealerships specialize in that, so they can offer special loans or deals. They are understanding, and can help give you guidance and find a car that fits in your budget. It doesn't hurt to shop around.

Start Paying a Little on Your Debt: One thing I learned is make sure to start paying a little on our debt. Even if it is $5 a month, it is something. Start with the lowest value due, and pay it off, then move to another bill and so on. That way you can mark off a bill and feel like you are getting somewhere. It will help with you credit, and be a plus for getting a loan!

Go With a Friend Who Has Car Knowledge: I am a person who doesn't know much about cars. I hop in it, put it in drive and off I go. Finding a friend who can know some automotive things is helpful. I had my husband with me, so he could listen to the car and tell it was running good, and was able to look it over and knew if it would possible be a dependable car. He went to school for mechanics. So if you have a friend or know someone, maybe when you go to shop around they could share their knowledge with you and look over the car with you!

Those are some basic steps I would take in buying a car if I had bad credit. It is very do-able, and I love how their are dealerships who will work with you on getting you a dependable car!
