The Ford Escape is definitely a great crossover that even is capable of towing some light loads. Equipped only with a four cylinder, 2.4 engine throughout the entire lineup, the engine still provides enough power to handle minor hauling tasks. For anyone looking for additional control, the Escape can be found with either four wheel or front wheel drive. Five speed manual and six speed automatic transmissions are available as well, depending on the options and trim levels.
When viewing any models previous to 2012, the interior differs compared to the more recent and revamped versions of the Escape. For anyone looking to be practical and don't need a lot of the extras, they can get an older version of the Escape at a great price.
Pre-Owned Ford Edge
The Ford Edge has always been known to provide a great value since its inception back in 2007. To make things simple, Ford provided a 3.5 liter, V6 engine for the entire line, giving it more capabilities than its sibling, the Escape. Deciding between front wheel or all wheel drive depends on the drivers needs, but with the V6 it's nice to know that there is plenty of power to go around for anyone interested in the all wheel drive option. Along with the engine, a six speed transmission is paired throughout the entire lineup. The great thing about the Edge is it brings a fresh new, modern look compared to other older Ford SUVs. While over the years not much has changed with the Edge, it's still a great looking vehicle that will make anyone slightly concerned with style very content while still providing some great performance.
Used Ford Explorer and Expedition
Between the two vehicles, the Explorer and the Expedition are serious workhorses. While the Explorer is the smaller of the two, it does what it needs to do to perform from everyday tasks to much more. With both models being around for nearly twenty years, the Explorer and the Expedition have shown that they can stand the test of time and continue to deliver a great value. While the Explorers have ranged from a V6 4.0 liter engine to a V8 4.6, the Expeditions have generally stayed with a V8 5.4 liter engine. Both are clearly able to deliver when it comes to towing, but as anyone would expect, the V8 definitely provides a slight setback for anyone who may be concerned with gas mileage. As far as the interior of these beasts is concerned, it's obvious that they have plenty of room to spare. Throughout the years, there have been various trim levels and options offered on these SUVs, so being able to find something that will meet drivers' needs is very likely. While older versions of these SUVs may be found to be a little behind with the times in terms of style and technology, it doesn't mean that they shouldn't be considered as a reliable vehicle that will get the job done.
